Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Summary










The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is a sacred Hindu scripture and a philosophical dialogue between Lord
Krishna and the warrior Arjuna, set on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Facing a moral crisis before the
great war, Arjuna becomes confused and unwilling to fight against his own relatives and teachers.
Lord Krishna guides him by explaining the deeper truths of life, duty, and spirituality.
The Gita teaches that every individual has a dharma (righteous duty), and one must perform it
sincerely without attachment to results. This principle is known as Karma Yoga. It emphasizes
selfless action as a path to inner peace and spiritual growth. The Gita also explains Bhakti Yoga, the
path of devotion, where surrender and love toward God lead to liberation, and Jnana Yoga, the path
of knowledge, which helps one realize the difference between the eternal soul (Atman) and the
temporary physical body.
Lord Krishna reveals that the soul is immortal and unaffected by birth or death, while the body
constantly changes. The ultimate goal of life is moksha (liberation), achieved through discipline,
devotion, wisdom, and balanced living. The Bhagavad Gita encourages living with faith, self-control,
compassion, and awareness, making it a timeless guide for ethical living and spiritual understanding.
