History of the Temple
Vishram Ghat, located on the banks of the holy Yamuna River in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the most sacred ghats in India. According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where Lord Krishna rested (Vishram) after killing the demon Kansa. The ghat is the starting and ending point of the traditional parikrama of Mathura.
