History of the Temple

Ujjayini’s Harsiddhi Mata Temple is one of the most revered Shaktipeethas of India. According to ancient legends, the elbow of Goddess Sati is believed to have fallen here, making the site sacred. The temple gained significant prominence during the rule of the Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar, who renovated and enriched the temple complex. The two iconic deep-stambhs (lamp towers) at the entrance are among the temple’s most striking features and illuminate beautifully during festivals. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Harsiddhi, considered a powerful form of Shakti who grants victory, protection, and prosperity.

    • Morning Aarti – Daily ritual worship of Maa Harsiddhi with lamps and chanting.
    • Evening Aarti – Major daily worship with deepa lighting and devotional hymns.
