About History of the Temple

Takht Sri Patna Sahib is one of the five sacred Takhts (seats of authority) in Sikhism. It is the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who was born here in 1666. The site was originally the residence of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru.

The present Gurudwara was built in the 18th century by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The temple houses several sacred relics belonging to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, including weapons, clothes, and handwritten scriptures. Takht Sri Patna Sahib is a major pilgrimage site and holds immense spiritual and historical significance for Sikhs worldwide.
