According to legend, Lord Krishna appeared before a devotee named Bodana, who used to travel from Dakor to Dwarka regularly to worship Him. Pleased with Bodana’s devotion, Krishna accompanied him to Dakor, where the temple was eventually established.
The current temple structure was built in the 18th century by the Gaekwad rulers. Its architecture includes an eight-sided central dome, intricate carvings, and a magnificent gold-plated kalash. The temple attracts thousands of devotees throughout the year, especially on full moon days (Poonam), when a grand fair is held.
