History of the Temple

Radha Rani Temple, also known as Ladli Lal Temple, is situated on Bhanugarh Hill in Barsana, Uttar Pradesh. It is dedicated to Shri Radha Rani, the eternal consort of Lord Krishna. Barsana is believed to be Radha Ji’s birthplace and childhood place.

The current temple structure is believed to date back to the 17th century and was renovated by the kings of Jaipur. Built with red sandstone, the temple showcases a beautiful blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture.

According to legends, Radha Ji spent her childhood in Barsana, and the temple stands at a significant divine location associated with many of her pastimes. Lathmar Holi celebrated here is world-famous and attracts thousands of devotees every year.

The temple remains one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the entire Braj region.
