Radha Kund and Shyam Kund are located near Govardhan town in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi – To – Radha Kund & Shyam Kund:

• By Road: Approximately 170 km from Delhi. Regular buses and taxis are available via Mathura–Govardhan route.
• By Train: Nearest major railway station is Mathura Junction (about 26 km). From Mathura, taxis and buses are available.
• By Air: Nearest airport is Agra Airport (about 75 km). From Agra, travel by road to Govardhan and Radha Kund.

Ahmedabad – To – Radha Kund & Shyam Kund:

• By Road: Approximately 900 km. Long-distance buses or private vehicles can be used.
• By Train: Direct and connecting trains are available from Ahmedabad Junction to Mathura Junction.
• By Air: Fly from Ahmedabad to Delhi or Agra, then continue by road to Mathura and Govardhan.

History of the Temple

Radha Kund and Shyam Kund are among the most sacred sites in the Braj region and hold immense importance in Vaishnava tradition. According to Hindu scriptures and devotional texts, these holy ponds are directly associated with the divine pastimes of Lord Krishna and Radha.

It is believed that Shyam Kund was created by Lord Krishna using his heel after he defeated the demon Aristasura. Radha Kund was later manifested by Sri Radha and the gopis using their bangles to collect sacred water from all holy rivers. The two kunds symbolize the eternal divine love of Radha and Krishna.

Great Vaishnava saints, especially the Six Goswamis of Vrindavan, emphasized the spiritual significance of Radha Kund. Taking a holy dip here, especially on Kartik Purnima, is believed to grant divine blessings and pure devotion (bhakti) to Lord Krishna.
