History of the Temple

Magadh Shaktipeeth, identified with Patan Devi Temple in Patna, is believed to be the place where the right thigh of Goddess Sati fell during the mythological event of Shiv’s tandav with Sati’s body. The temple is one of the significant Shaktipeethas and is revered for its ancient spiritual importance. The presiding deity is worshipped as Maa Sarvānandkāri Patneshwari.
