History of the Temple

Maa Bhairavi Temple, also known as Siddha Bhairavi Temple, is located in Mantridi village in Ganjam district of Odisha. The presiding deity is Goddess Bhairavi, a powerful form of the Divine Mother. The idol is unique, depicted with one leg and four arms (Eka-Pada Bhairavi).

According to legend, the idol was discovered by a farmer while ploughing his field. Recognizing its spiritual importance, the villagers installed it and later built a temple around 1937. Maa Bhairavi is believed to fulfill wishes and grant spiritual powers (siddhis) to her devotees. The temple complex also contains numerous smaller shrines dedicated to various Hindu deities.

Devotees visit in large numbers during Navaratri, Chaitra Jatra, and on auspicious Tuesdays to seek blessings of Maa Bhairavi.
