Delhi to Jwalamukhi Temple

  • The distance is approximately 497 km by road (around 10–12 hours by car or bus). Travellers may also reach nearby airports or railway stations and continue by taxi or bus.

Ahmedabad to Jwalamukhi Temple

  • There is no direct route. The common route is Ahmedabad → Delhi / Chandigarh / Pathankot via flight or train → Road journey to Jwalamukhi Temple.
  • Nearby Transport Options- Nearest Airport: Gaggal Airport (Dharamshala), approx. 46–50 km.
  • Nearest Railway Station: Pathankot Railway Station, approx. 120–123 km.

History of the Temple

Jwalamukhi Temple is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Jwala Ji. The temple is unique for its naturally occurring eternal flame emerging from rock fissures, representing the Goddess. It is counted among the 51 Shakti Peethas. According to legend, the tongue of Goddess Sati fell at this location. The temple has centuries-old significance, with mention in ancient texts and historical accounts. Maharaja Ranjit Singh is believed to have donated the gold plating of the temple dome during his visit in the early 19th century.

    • Om Kaumari Poojan – Worship involving Kanya Pujan for prosperity and victory.
