History of the Temple

Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple is a significant Shakti Peeth, believed to be where Goddess Sati’s palm fell. First temple structure is attributed to a Brahmin named Anari. Later rebuilt by Maharaja Pratapaditya. Renovated over time, partially damaged during 1971 events. The temple includes a large Natmondir and remains an active pilgrimage site.
