History of the Temple

Dwarkadhish Temple in Kankroli, also known as Kankroli Haveli, is one of the prominent temples of the Pushtimarg tradition established by Shri Vallabhacharya. The presiding deity, Shri Dwarkadhish (a form of Lord Krishna), is considered the third Gopal idol brought from Mathura during the Mughal period to protect it from invasions. The idol was later consecrated at Kankroli near Rajsamand Lake in Rajasthan. The temple originally gained prominence under the royal patronage of the Mewar rulers. Today, it stands as an important pilgrimage site, especially for Vaishnav and Pushtimarg followers, and is known for its serene lakeside setting and traditional seva rituals.
