Delhi to Ambaji

• By Air: The nearest major airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Ahmedabad). From Delhi, take a direct flight to Ahmedabad and then travel by road to Ambaji (approx. 180 km).
• By Train: Direct trains from Delhi to Abu Road railway station are available. From Abu Road, Ambaji is about 22 km by taxi or bus.
• By Road: You can travel by bus or private car from Delhi to Ambaji (approx. 880 km).

• By Road: Frequent buses and taxis operate between Ahmedabad and Ambaji. Road distance is around 180 km (approx. 4–5 hours).
• By Train: Travel from Ahmedabad to Abu Road railway station, then continue to Ambaji by road.
• By Air: No direct flights, as Ambaji does not have an airport. Ahmedabad is the nearest major airport.

History of the Temple

The Ambaji Temple, located in Banaskantha district of Gujarat, is one of the oldest and most revered Shakti Peethas in India. It is dedicated to Goddess Amba, also known as Arasuri Mata. The temple is situated on the Arasur Hill in the Aravalli Range.

According to Hindu mythology, Ambaji is believed to be the site where the heart of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva carried her burnt body across the universe. This makes the shrine an important Shakti Peetha.

The temple does not contain an idol; instead, the sacred Shree Yantra (Sri Chakra) is worshipped. The Yantra is believed to hold immense divine energy. Photography inside the temple is strictly prohibited.

Over centuries, the temple has been renovated multiple times, yet it retains its ancient cultural and spiritual significance. The Ambaji Temple remains a major pilgrimage site, attracting millions of devotees every year.
