About History of the Temple
Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, located in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh,
is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
The temple is situated on the Nallamala Hills beside the Krishna River.
Mentioned in ancient scriptures like Skanda Purana,
the temple was supported by Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, and Vijayanagara rulers.
Its Dravidian architecture features intricate carvings and majestic gopurams.
