History of the Temple

Chehar Maa (also known as Chehar Mata or Kesharr Bhavani) is a prominent deity primarily worshipped by the Rabari and Rajput communities of Gujarat.

Origin: The original history traces back to Martoli and Terwada in Gujarat. According to legend, the Goddess manifested to protect her devotees and is an incarnation of the Divine Mother.

Significance: She is often depicted as a benevolent deity who fulfills the wishes of those who visit with a pure heart.

Mumbai Presence: The temple in Navi Mumbai was established to provide a place of worship for the migrant Gujarati and Rajasthani diaspora living in Maharashtra, ensuring they stay connected to their roots and the protection of “Chehar Maa.”

Main Poojas Performed
The rituals at the Chehar Maa Temple are centered around the “Shakti” tradition, focusing on the mother goddess.
