History of the Temple
Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, located in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated on the Nallamala Hills beside the Krishna River. According to mythology, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati stayed here to console their son Kartikeya after a family misunderstanding, making the site spiritually significant.
