- By Road: Distance is approximately 290 km. Travel via NH44 towards Ambala, Yamunanagar, and then Paonta Sahib. Buses and taxis are easily available.

- Fly from Ahmedabad to Dehradun or Chandigarh, then travel by road to Paonta Sahib.

- Take a train from Ahmedabad to Dehradun or Ambala Cantt. From there, continue by road.

About History of the Temple
Gurdwara Paonta Sahib is one of the most sacred Sikh shrines and is closely associated with Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Guru stayed here from 1685 to 1688 during the reign of Raja Medni Prakash of Sirmur. It was at Paonta Sahib that Guru Gobind Singh Ji composed several important Sikh scriptures, including parts of the Dasam Granth.
The name ‘Paonta’ is derived from the word ‘Paon’, meaning foot, signifying the place where the Guru first set foot in the region. The gurdwara is situated on the banks of the Yamuna River and also commemorates the historic Battle of Bhangani, fought nearby in 1688. Today, Gurdwara Paonta Sahib stands as a symbol of Sikh faith, courage, and devotion.
