History of the Temple
Taranga Jain Temple is one of the most important Jain pilgrimage sites in Gujarat, located on Taranga Hill in Mehsana district. The temple is primarily dedicated to Bhagwan Ajitnath, the second Jain Tirthankara. It was constructed in the 12th century during the Solanki dynasty, under the patronage of King Kumarapala. The temple is renowned for its intricate stone carvings, majestic shikhara, and serene hilltop setting. Taranga has been a significant center for Jain learning and worship for centuries and continues to attract devotees from across India.
