History of the Temple

Jalandhar Shaktipeeth, also known as Devi Talab Mandir, is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that the left breast (or heart) of Goddess Sati fell at this location. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, worshipped here as Devi Tripurmalini, and Lord Shiva as Bhairav. The temple is over 200 years old in its current form, although the site itself is considered ancient. The temple complex also features a sacred pond (Talab) believed to possess divine powers.
