History of the Temple
Manibandh Shaktipeeth is one of the 51 sacred Shaktipeeths of Goddess Sati. It is believed that the wrists (Manibandh) of Goddess Sati fell at this location when Lord Vishnu used his divine weapon to save the universe from the destructive Tandava of Lord Shiva. The presiding deity is Goddess Gayatri (a form of Adi Shakti) along with Lord Shiva (Sarvananda). The temple is located on Gayatri Hills, near Pushkar, Rajasthan, and is considered highly sacred for devotees.
