History of Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga
Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva
and is located at the source of the holy Godavari River near Brahmagiri Hills.
The Jyotirlinga uniquely represents the Hindu trinity – Brahma, Vishnu,
and Mahesh (Shiva) – through three distinct faces.
The present temple was constructed in the 18th century by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao
using black stone in Nagara architectural style. Trimbakeshwar is also renowned
for rituals like Narayan Nagbali, Kaal Sarp Shanti, and Pitru Dosha Puja.
