History of Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga
Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga, also known as Baidyanath Dham, is one of the twelve
sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. According to mythology, Ravana worshipped
Lord Shiva here and offered his ten heads as sacrifice.
Pleased by his devotion, Lord Shiva appeared as Vaidyanath (the divine
healer) and restored Ravana’s heads. The temple complex is located in Deoghar,
Jharkhand, and also houses a Shaktipeeth of Goddess Parvati.
It is one of the rare pilgrimage sites where a Jyotirlinga and Shaktipeeth
coexist, attracting millions of devotees throughout the year.

- Shodashopachara Puja – Daily ritual with 16 offerings
- Rudrabhishek – For peace, health, and obstacle removal
- Mahamrityunjaya Jaap – For longevity and protection
- Jal Abhishek – Especially significant during Shravan
